Neverwinter Nights 2 for the Mac
A great game, Neverwinter Nights 2 for the Apple Mac, started shipping recently. A role playing game where you build up a character and recruit companions, is an excelant sequal to the original. As in the original, NWN2 also takes place in the fantasy world of Forgotten Realms, a setting well known to Dungeons & Dragons players. The game, priced at $50 (USD), requires Mac OS X 10.4.11 or better. It is highly recommended. Whether lobbing fireballs and researching forgotten spells as a powerful Wizard, hacking a trail through legions of orcs as a Fighter armed only with a battle axe and your courage, or taking on the role of a Rogue that can slip into the shadows at a moment’s notice, the choice is yours. Reminiscent of Baldur’s Gate and Knight of the Old Republic (but without all the bugs), it is played in an immersive 3D world populated by wizards, orcs, witches, and brash young heroes. Although not a direct continuation of the original, the games does takes place in and around the city of Neverwinter many years later. NWN2 does makes allusions to events in the first game, but you need not have played the original at all. It is a highly detailed and flexible role-playing game, worthy of Apple’s Macintosh computer. |
